This Privacy Policy explains how Pinstix collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app. It is written in Australian English. Pinstix is a photo and map app that lets you capture moments and place them on an interactive map, with multiple map styles and sharing features.

It focuses on the data categories required to provide Pinstix’s functionality and the data used for advertising. If you have any questions, you can contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

Information We Collect

Pinstix collects or processes the following types of data. Each data type is collected for a specific purpose, and we only use it in ways that align with the app’s features and the disclosures listed below.

• Device ID (Identifiers): collected by third-party advertising providers for ad delivery and measurement within the app.
• Advertising Data / Usage Data: collected by third-party advertising providers for ad delivery and measurement within the app.
• Product Interaction, Performance Data: may be collected by third-party advertising providers for ad delivery and measurement. Pinstix does not independently collect analytics or behavioural profiles.
• Location (Precise from Photo Metadata): used for app functionality, such as placing pins and rendering maps. Location data may be shared transiently with Apple Maps (MapKit) for map tiles and reverse geocoding. This data is not linked to you.
• Photos and Videos (including Live Photos and screen recordings): used for app functionality, such as displaying your pinned moments and enabling sharing or export. This data is stored and managed on your device and not linked to you. When map tiles are loaded or addresses are looked up, location coordinates derived from photo metadata may be shared with Apple Maps (MapKit) for that purpose.

We do not collect additional categories beyond those listed here. The app does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect contact details, payment information, or other sensitive data types.

How We Use Information

We use the information processed by Pinstix to operate the app’s features and provide its intended functionality:

• Enable core features like capturing photos, pinning them to locations, and exploring your map.
• Provide multiple map styles and smooth map animations.
• Support sharing and exporting your moments, including screen recordings.
• Deliver and measure third-party advertising using device identifiers, advertising/usage data, and product interaction/performance data.

Location information may be read from photo metadata to place pins accurately on the map. Coordinates can be sent to Apple Maps (MapKit) to render map tiles and perform reverse geocoding. Photos or videos you choose are used to display your pins and enable sharing or export. Device identifiers and advertising/usage data support third-party ad delivery and measurement.

Tracking and Advertising

Pinstix displays third-party advertisements. Advertising partners may collect limited device and advertising interaction data to deliver ads and measure performance within the app.

Pinstix does not request permission to track users across other companies’ apps or websites and does not engage in targeted or personalised advertising. As a result, the App Tracking Transparency prompt is not shown.

Ads displayed in the app are non-personalised. You can manage advertising and privacy preferences through your iOS device settings.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to support Pinstix’s core features. These services include Apple Maps (MapKit) to display interactive maps and perform reverse geocoding, and advertising providers to deliver ads and measure performance. These providers may receive the data described above.

We select providers that support the functionality we need and take steps to ensure their use aligns with the purposes outlined in this policy.

Data Control and Deletion

You choose which photos and videos to share with Pinstix through the Photos permission. Pinstix may display photos or videos that include location metadata, where available, to place pins accurately on the map. Pinstix does not request location permission. The app does not require user accounts, and we do not store your photos or location data on our servers. When maps are rendered or addresses are looked up, coordinates may be shared with Apple Maps (MapKit) for that purpose. You can remove items you have added within the app, which will remove them from your map and sharing views.

Advertising data is processed by third-party advertising providers. We do not control or delete that data on your behalf. You can manage general advertising and privacy preferences through your iOS device settings.
